Martin Truex Jr. has earned the pole position and Mark Martin will start outside in row-1 after qualifying at the Daytona 500 time trials on Sunday (Feb.8). Truex qualifed fastest by rounding the 2.5 mile oval in 47.872 seconds equaling 188.001 miles per hour. Truex edged out Martin for the pole who qualified his Kellogg's Impala at 187.817 mph.

Jimmie Johnson, Aric Almirola, Travis Kvapil, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart posted the sixth- through 10th-fastest times, respectively.
