F1 star Lewis Hamilton has begun testing his McLaren in Spain on Tuesday for the first time since he was racially abused. Hamilton was at the Jerez track in Andalucia, which is at least 1200 kilometres from the racists who jeered him in Barcelona but there are fears he could again be targeted. In Barcelona fans blacked their faces, wore black wigs and paraded banners that made threatening gestures towards his family.

S
o far in Jerez there has been no sign of any abuse with only a handful of spectators in the grandstands. Hamilton has been an enemy of many Spanish fans after his high profile fall out with Spain´s Fernando Alonso. The pair clashed several times last season when racing for McLaren. Alonso has since switched to Renault.Racists and Lewis Hamilton

Spain could face serious punishment if there is a recurrence of the abuse.

President of F1 governing body the FIA, Max Mosley, said that racists will not be tolerated.

He said the FIA could "The Spanish Grand Prix could be pulled if the racist abuse continues," he said.

That´s a threat the Spanish must sit up and take notice of however it would be unlikely for the country to be shorn its Formula One races just because of a few idiots.
