Pulsion Couldn’t Pull Through For 2010 Kentucky Derby: After the Arkansas Derby-G1 out of Oakland Park, it looks as though Pulsion won’t be heading to the 2010 Kentucky Derby after his 8th place finish last Saturday. April 10th being a make it or break it race, Pulsion (200 to 1 odds) just couldn’t get to running and left the race with a throat infection after finishing 8th place. Owned by Kin Hui of Flying Zee Stable and bred out of Florida, trainer Patrick Biancone admits there was something going on, “It's not that he ran badly, but he did not run at all.”
Coming from an unimpressive pedigree (Include – Spring by Stravinsky), Pulsion will really need to step up his game as he hasn’t had a 1st or 2nd place finish since 2009. Even with Pulsion seemingly out of the Kentucky Derby and with a throat infection, Patrick Biancone has faith that his colt will be back up and running.
"He's sound, but he scoped badly," trainer Patrick Biancone said. "There was no blood, but there was infection in the throat. I suppose it was the change of weather, the pollen, something. The good news is that he has another day to fight."
