The reason why that position isn’t one anyone wants to be in is because of the traffic that’s usually created at the first turn. The best-case scenario for Lookin At Lucky is to perhaps break away from the pack early in order to avoid getting jammed on the inside.
“There’s no use in crying about it,” said Lookin At Lucky co-owner, Mike Pegram. “It’s better to have a good trip than a good post position.”
