Despite drawing the dreaded 20th pole position Big Brown is still considered among the best of all the 2008 Kentucky Derby Favorites. BodogLife.com has Big Brown listed at 3 to 1 odds and the most common selection among the experts making Derby Picks. The colt has only three starts in his young career, with all three being wins including a dominant performance in the Florida Derby. Big Brown has the highest registered speed rating in this year’s field and is expected to be the most heavily bet Kentucky Derby Odds favorite of all-time. Despite all of the hype, Big Brown is unseasoned. Kentucky Derby favorites with less than 5 starts have an 0-30 record in the Kentucky Derby since 1918. Big Brown is also coming off a 30+ day layoff and still has unproven stamina. Despite the question marks, Big Brown has the most raw speed of the Kentucky derby contenders. Even with Big Brown starting in the dreaded outside rail position, this horse might get a fast start and blow away the field as the top of the pack out of all the 2008 Kentucky Derby Odds favorites.
Post 20- Big Brown Jockey: Kent Desormeaux (14-2-0-2) Record: 3-3-0-0 Highest Speed Rating: 106 Kentucky Derby Odds: 3-1
