2009 Preakness Stakes: Contenders, Entries, Favorites, Odds Preview: The 134th edition of the 2009 Preakness Stakes is scheduled to get under way Saturday May 16th beginning at 4:30 PM ET (1:30 PM PT) on NBC.
As early as Wednesday, Rachel Alexandra [+150 ML] has been listed as considered the top horse out of all the 2009 Preakness Stakes Favorites, followed by 2009 Preakness Stakes Contenders Mine That Bird [+450] (PP No.2) and Pioneerof The Nile [+450] (PP No.9) tied at distant second odds-favorites in the Middle Jewel of the Triple Crown at Pimlico Race Course. 
As the favorite among all the other 2009 Preakness Stakes Entries, Rachel Alexandra brings a 5-race winning streak into Saturday's 1 3/16-mile race, drawing the No.13 Post Position on the far outside.
"It's beautiful. She's going to be able to get position," said Scott Blasi, Rachel Alexandra assistant trainer.
"It's a good spot for her," Pioneerof the Nile’s trainer, Bob Baffert. "She's out there in the clear. If you're in the middle and you don't break well, they can jam you up. She's going to be (running) one, two or three; that's a good spot for her."
