Helio Castroneves Wins Indianapolis 500: As predicted by 2009 Indianapolis 500 Odds, Helio Castroneves capped off a perfect month by capturing the checked flag in Saturday’s 2009 Indianapolis 500. "I want to climb the fence… this is incredible… this is the best month of May ever,” he said.  

Castroneves, who was recently cleared of tax-evasion charges, became just the 9th driver to win the historic race three times.

The Brazilian is now one win away from becoming a four-time Indianapolis 500 winner, joining A.J. Foyt, Al Unser and Rick Mears.

As expected, the ever-controversial Danica Patrick also had a good showing, finishing 3rd overall. Overall, it was a crash-filled race, as some of the biggest names like Kanaan, Marco Andretti and Graham Rahal were taken out.

After the race, Andretti said that there was nothing he could have done when 20 Mario Moraes pinched him into the wall. Andretti went on to finish 30th in the 33-car field. "The kid doesn't get it, and he never will," said Andretti. "He's just clueless out there."
