IZOD IndyCar Series points leader Will Power will look to capture his third win of the season in tomorrow's 100th running of the Indianapolis 500. Despite Power's success this year, the Australian born driver is not expected to emerge victorious at Indy. According to the latest Sports Betting Odds, that distinction goes to Scott Dixon, who is a 3 to 1 favorite to win his second Indianapolis 500. Power is presently listed at 8 to 1 odds to join auto racing's most priviledged group.
Will Power has dominated 
the IZOD IndyCar circuit this season, leading 157 of the 330 laps ran in route to a series leading 168 points. Power finished second to Dario Franchitti in the season's first race, but he has recording two wins since that run, including one at the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama where he led all 90 laps.
Power, who is shooting for his first IndyCar Championship, also won the pole in the season's first four races, a streak that was broke this week at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The 30 year old Power qualified fifth for tomorrow's race, which serves as his second best starting position in four career appearances at the event.
Despite the solid starting spot, Power seemed a bit uncomfortable with losing out on the pole.
"I have to say, we were probably caught a little bit unawares that the competition had become a lot tougher," Power said. "We're hoping our cars are good."
Power, who drives the No. 12 Verizon Honda for Team Penske, recorded his best finish at Indy in 2009 when he took fifth place. Last year Power started second but placed eighth.
Power will begin the 2011 Indianapolis 500 from the middle of Row Two between drivers Townsend Bell and Dan Wheldon. Power's teammates, four time Indy winner Helio Castroneves and fellow Aussie Ryan Briscoe, will start 16th and 26th respectively.
Canadian driver Alex Tagliani will have the pole when the green flag drops tomorrow at noon.
