2014 F1 Canadian Grand Prix Odds

Lewis-Hamilton-beat-Nico-Rosberg-in-BahrainThe 34th running of the Formula One Canadian Grand Prix takes place on Sunday 8 June, at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. Nico Rosberg’s victory in Monaco put him back into the championship lead (122pts), with Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton four points behind (118pts). Those two racers previously mentioned are dominating the circuit and there are no others racers anywhere near the top. It’s going to be a great battle, because oddsmakers at Bovada have Lewis Hamilton as 1 to 2 odds favorite to win the Canadian Grand Prix. Although it’s highly likely one of the two men will take the chequered flag this weekend, whoever is second shouldn’t despair. Only 13 Canadian Grands Prix at Montreal have been won by the eventual world champion. Let’s take a look at who could be crossing the finish line first at the 2014 Canadian Grand Prix. Below are all Canadian Grand Prix Betting Odds for the big race.

The race course is sure to produce a ton of lead changes. The Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is truly a thing of beauty. It consists of two hairpins and four chicanes with a couple of extra corners thrown in, and many corners have no run-off at all. A mistake at one of these places will almost certainly result in a trip into the wall. Because come rain or shine, Montreal always delivers the goods. No circuit is as likely to produce a great race as this one.

Lewis Hamilton (1/2) has the best car, but when that is the case all you can do is beat the guy across from you in the garage. Hamilton has done that. The only race he didn’t beat Rosberg at was Monaco, and had the famous qualifying incident not occurred, who knows what might have happened? His temperament has come under scrutiny and could well be his undoing as the season wears on, but on the track, Hamilton is the performer of the year so far.

Nico Rosberg (2/1) is the current championship leader with a four-point lead over Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton. His unobstructed victory in Australia was followed by four second places. Rosberg ran Hamilton close in Bahrain and Spain but couldn’t find a way past. Though he has been second-best most of the year, the momentum is now on Rosberg’s side of the garage.

In the constructors’ championship standings, Mercedes have a commanding lead over second-placed Red Bull.
