Coke Zero 400 at Daytona Odds and Predictions: The green flag will drop to begin the mid-summer NASCAR Sprint Cup race Coke Zero 400 at Daytona Saturday, 8:15 p.m. ET and according to oddsmakers at super-sportsbook Bodog.com , Kyle Busch of Joe Gibbs Racing is the race favorite at 6-to-1 odds. Tony Stewart, a two-time winner at the summer classic and the current Sprint Cup points leader will be starting the race from the pole position and is listed on the Sprint Cup betting board as a solid threat at 7-to-1 odds.
After qualifying was rained out, Stewart was awarded the pole based on his Sprint Cup points standing. Jeff Gordon will be on the outside pole followed by Jimmy Johnson who will start third. Winning odds on Gordon and Johnson are listed by Bodog at 8-to-1.
"I’m excited about it", said Stewart on learning he would be starting up front. "I think handling is always a big issue here at Daytona so that is what makes racing here so much fun is because it’s a handling issue and it’s not just necessarily strategy of being in the right place at the right time as much as you have to have a good, balanced car to get to the front and stay at the front."
Kyle Busch, the defending champion of this race, has four top-five and four top-10 finishes in nine starts. Maybe oddsmakers are correct by tagging Bush as favorite based on his overall body of work at the Florida track. Busch said Daytona is one of the few tracks he hasn't struggled. Coke Zero 400 prediction: If Kyle Busch can stay out of trouble and has no mechanical problems he has an excellent chance of taking the checkerd flag. Making predictions in Sprint Cup is difficult because of all the variables but Busch should be as good as any for Saturday night.
