2014 Brickyard 400 Odds

Ryan-Newman-Brickyard-winnerThe Nascar Sprint Cup Series is at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for the Brickyard 400, Sunday July 27. This is the 20th race on the 2014 Sprint Cup Series schedule. The defending champion is Ryan Newman, the runner up was Jimmie Johnson and the pole winner was Ryan Newman. Hendrick Motorsports teammates Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon lead all drivers with four victories each at Indianapolis. Gordon’s wins there occurred in 1994, ’98, 2001 and ’04. Johnson’s victories at this track happened in 2006, ’08, ’09 and ’12. Because of Johnson’s recent success, sportsbooks have Jimmie Johnson as the favorite to win the 2014 Brickyard 400. Brad Keselowski , Jeff Gordon and Kevin Harvick are also amongst the favorites. Below is the Brickyard 400 preview and picks along with the most up-to-date Brickyard 400 Odds for you to consider.

Jimmie Johnson (9/2) is the favorite to win this week for a reason. He has four wins at the Brickyard and a series-best driver rating in the last four races at the race track. He started second last year and finished second. In 2012, he started sixth and won the race. Johnson will chase Keselowski to the checkered flag Sunday.

Brad Keselowski (11/2) is on a hot streak right now. Do not expect him to cool down anytime soon. His stats at the Brickyard are not the best. Keselowski has never finished in the top five at the race track, but that will change this week. Keselowski is having a career year and will top it off with a win at the Brickyard this week.

Jeff Gordon (15/2) won the inaugural Brickyard 400 in 1994 and has gone back to Victory Lane three more times in his career. As good as Gordon has been this season, it would not be surprising to see him Sunday back in Victory Lane. Gordon has an average finishing position of 8.8 at the Brickyard. He will easily finish in the top five this week.

Kevin Harvick (15/2) won this race in 2003 and could add another win this week if he can avoid problems on pit row. At Pocono earlier this season, Harvick qualified fourth but finished 14th due to slow pit stops. He will qualify up front again this week and finish just outside the top five.
