2010 Breeders Cup Post Positions, Contenders & Betting Odds: The action will get started on Friday from Louisville, Kentucky where there will be 6 Breeders’ Cup races live from Churchill Downs. One of the big races that day will be the $2 million Ladies’ Classic, where all eyes will be on favorite Blind Luck. This year she has won 5 of her 8 starts, including four of the five photo finishes he has been involved in so far. One of the photo finishes includes the Kentucky Oaks on April 30th. The Breeders Cup will be Blind Luck’s sixth cross-country trip in 2010.
Her trainer and co-owner, Jerry Hollendorfer, bought Blind Luck last year privately. "She's never changed since the first day I saw her, and that's a good thing," said Hollendorfer, "She's fun to be around, with her personality. She stays happy all the time."
But on Friday, Blind Luck will go head to head with old rivals such as Life At Ten, at the 11-horse Ladies Classic. The older mare, has won 5 of 6 starts this year and could be a threat to Blind Luck. Other notable racers include the winner of the La Troienne Stakes, Unrivaled Belle, and Malibu Prayer, who has won 2 of her 3 latest starts.
Havre de Grace will also be competing on Friday, and she has had a lot experience with Blind Luck, as she has lost two tight decisions to the favorite in July and August. But on October 2nd, Havre de Grace finally beat her at the Cotillion, and trainer Tony Dutrow could not be prouder.
"She's good, I think better than ever before," said Dutrow. "She has run faster every race than her preceding one, and I've seen in her, for the first time, that she's aggressive coming into a race. I think she knows what to do now. She has experience. She's going into this race unlike any other.”
