Breeders Cup 2010 Odds Goldikova: The 2010 Breeders Cup brings together the toughest thoroughbreds around the world. Starting Friday, the top racehorses will be recognized at Churchill Downs, in Louisville, for their talent and ability. But reporters are already comparing two top horses as well as two countries: American favorite Zenyatta [+150 ML] and European champ Goldikova [+110 ML].
The French-based mare will competing in the Breeders’ Cup Mile, looking to earn her third straight victory. In 20 
starts, Goldikova already has 14 victories. She also has experience running against males in the highest class levels, having ran 11 races in Europe and the US.
In comparison to Zenyatta, who will only be racing for the second time against males. The American super horse will be competing in the Classic on Saturday, and is also the defending champion.
Goldikova’s trainer, Freddie Head, was asked this week if he could compare the two, and he answered as best he could.
"It's very different," Head said. "You can't compare. It's a lot different in Europe. In Europe you have to compete with colts all the time. Zenyatta, she hasn't been beaten. She's a champion."
This year, Goldikova has won four of five races, and has showed off her versatility. But even her trainer knows that it will not be an easy race.
"It's a top-class field of horses. Paco Boy is a real champion. Gio Ponti is probably the best horse here (in the United States) on turf."
Last year at Santa Anita, Goldikova won the Cup Mile after breaking from the No. 11 post position in the 11-horse field. She pulled off the win with an impressive stretch run. This year, as the 6-5 favorite, she will break from the No. 10 position.
