Jockey Kieren Fallon has walked out a free man from the Old Bailey after his 'race-fixing' trial collapsed.

Bet on horseracing with Bodog.

The former Champion Jockey Fallon and five other men have been acquitted after trial judge Mr Justice Forbes ordered the jury to do so.

Jockeys Fergal Lynch and Darren Williams were two of the men involved.

Judge Forbes said there wasn´t a case to answer following defence submissions. The trial comprised two months of prosecution evidence. Fallon always denied involvement in the race fixing claims.Fallon a free Man from Horse Race Fixing Trial

During the two month trial Fallon´s barrister asked the judge: "You have to consider how much it would cost to buy Kieren Fallon."

Businessman Miles Rodgers - a reputed gambler and two other men had also been accused of plotting to throw races.

John Kelsey-Fry, who acted as Fallon's QC, urged Judge Forbes to throw out the case against him on the grounds that the prosecution had failed in its efforts to "come close" to making a case against the jockey. Kelsey-Fry pointed out that the races which Fallon lost brought only small winnings for the alleged schemers.

One of the races yielded only £3,000 and with Fallon being a multi-millionare thats hardly the kind of figure to get the pulses racing.

Said Kelsey-Fry: "There is simply no case to answer. None of the strands of evidence individually or collectively amount to a case to answer. The evidence presented by the prosecution when properly analysed has demonstrated that Kieren Fallon was not a party to a conspiracy to defraud."
