The second leg of the Triple Crown, the 2008 Preakness Stakes2008 Preakness Stakes Saturday May 17 at 6:30 PM ET airing on NBC could be a blowout for Big Brown. Horse handicapping expert John O’Brien has decided to analyze some trends for the 2008 Preakness Stakes horse betting values.  BodogLife.com has Big Brown as the odds-on favorite to win after his “special” display of cruising  in his win at Kentucky Derby. “The Preakness Stakes is a race for Speed horses. Brown is a shoe-in he is the fastest horse and he will win you horse betting money.” said O’Brien. Big Brown has won his three races by 29 lengths, it hasn’t even been close.”
2008 Preakness Stakes: Gayego and Big Brown the elite?
John O’Brien had this to say about Big Brown’s competition .Gayego “Big Brown is an overlay but he is worth it because he is on another level this year.” The next best thing is Gayego but he isn’t bred with enough stamina. Gayego ran a rough 17th in the Kentucky Derby but he is a speed horse with a top-end 103 Beyer Speed Rating  “I like Gayego in the exacta bet, but throwing money on him to win at 10-1 is a waste.” Gayego has won 50% of his races and he could bounce back the way that some horses do at the Pimlico.”Horse betting money on Gayego has moved the opening line of Gayego 15-1 to it’s current 10-1 at most shops.

Preakness Stakes Contenders PDF Print E-mail

This field of Preakness Stakes contenders looks overmatched on paper to Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown but before ruling all of the Preakness Stakes contenders out her are some betting tips for the race at Pimlico. The Preakness Stakes are 1\16th of a mile shorter than the Kentucky Derby so it is tailor made for speed horses. Bet on the Preakness Stakes at BoDoglife.com.

Front runners and stalkers that race close to the leader have a good shot at Pimlico. The Preakness is Preakness Stakes Contenderstraditionally won by a contender that is on the front end. Another factor is the horses bloodlines. Blue-chip level Preakness Contenders are usually the ones that win this race. Strictly A-level horses win this race, no B or B- talent wins here. Don’t be to put off if a horse did poorly in their previous, Pimlico has a reputation for bounce performances.

Local Maryland Preakness Stakes contenders have also run especially well at Pimlico. One overlooked intangible is the trainer. Find a Preakness contender that has a blue-chip trainer and you have a shot at winning.

Big Brown Will Go for Triple Crown in Preakness Stakes 2008 Betting Odds PDF Print E-mail
Written by Abe Luciano
Thursday, 15 May 2008

After all the hoopla and controversy surrounding horse racing, a few years back with Barbaro, and more recently Eight Belles, the racing world prepares for this weekend’s Pimlico, the sight for the 133rd Preakness States. Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown is an early favorite to win the Preakness Stakes, which would in-turn set the stage for a shot at the Triple Crown later this year, at the Belmont Stakes. BodogLife.com has the best Odds to win the 2008 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico.

Big Brown is 1/4 early odds favorite to win this weekend’s Preakness Stakes race. If so, BB will be looking to add his name in the history books (in three weeks), at the Belmont Stakes.

For Brown, this race will be a bit different than the KD. Brown will try his luck, at running in the middle lane, in contrary to the outside lane, where he had so much success in the K-Derby.

"He gets to save some ground for the first time," Michael Iavarone, said of his horse drawing a # 7 post for the 1 3-16th-mile race at Pimlico. "I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. We'll find out."

Winning the Kentucky Derby, and two weeks later winning the Preakness, is no walk in the park. Only 1969’s Majestic Prince, 1977’s (Triple Crown winner) Seattle Slew, and 2004’s Smarty Jones have been victorious in the Preakness, as undefeated Derby winners.

BodogLife.com has the best Odds to win the 2008 Preakness Stakes at Pimlico:

Behindatthebar: 10/1

Gayego: 14/1

Kentucky Bear: 14/1

Yankee Bravo: 20/1

Hey Byrn: 25/1

Macho Again: 25/1

Giant Moon: 40/1

Icabad Crane: 40/1

Tres Borrachos: 50/1

Racecar Rhapsody: 50/1

Stevil: 50/1

Riley Tucker: 50/1

The 2008 Preakness Stakes are upon us this Saturday at Pimlico after the triumph and tragedy at the Kentucky Derby. Big Brown was the big winner blowing away the field in the race for the roses  but Big Brown will have some familiar faces around him again at Pimlico. The reliable on-line sportsbook BetUs.com, has already posted Preakness Stakes Betting Odds open up shop for gambling. There are some trends for horsebetting players to consider, before placing a wager on their Colt at BetUs.com:

The average Preakness Stakes winner averages 111 on the speed Beyer on the 1 3\16 mile course. The take on 2007
Preakness Stakes Betting Odds was over $87 million at the track last year. Most horses that win the Preakness Stakes are speed horses that have blue-chip talent. Over 50% of the winning horses at Pimlico were odds-on favorites. The winner of this year’s race at Pimlico will have the ability to stalk early and close late with lightning speed. I saw a horse that could do both of those in the Kentucky Derby named Big Brown. Everybody wants to see a glamourous Triple Crown winner but the fact is that the long course at Belmont is a gravesite for Triple Crown hopefuls since 1978.

Preakness Stakes Betting Odds at BetUS.com posted for Triple Crown Betting and Preakness Betting:
