MLB Free Prediction Chicago Cubs vs Houston Astros: This afternoon, starting at 2:20 PM ET, its game 2 of this series, as the Chicago Cubs are once again -250 betting odds favorites to beat the Houston Astros (+210) at SportsBook.com. The National League Central seems to be a 2-horse race, as the Chicago Cubs (67-46) hold on to that top spot by 5 over the Milwaukee Brewers (62-51).

Even though the Houston Astros (54-57) are nowhere near contention for a playoff spot (13½ games behind the Cubs), they are still a decent ball club that can beat almost any team on any given night, and last night was a perfect example.

In Monday night’s prolonged opener, a 2-hour rain delay first threatened the game between the Chicago Cubs and the Houston Astros (with a 2-0 score in the 6th inning).

At around 11 PM ET, the Windy City whether subsided, and play resumed. However, they were only able to get 2 innings in, before play was again stopped in the lower part of the 8th innings due to thundering and lightening. At 1:00 AM ET, the game was oficially called. Thus, giving the victory to the Houston Astros by a final-8 score of 2-0.

In Game 2, which will take place literally just hours after the culmination of game 1, visiting LHP Wandy Rodriguez (6-4, 3.61 ERA, 83 K, and 27 BB, in 92.1 IP) will take on the electric RHP Rich Harden (6-2, 2.04 ERA, 131 K, and 39 BB, in 101.1 IP). The OVER/UNDER for this MLB Free Prediction: Chicago Cubs vs Houston Astros is set at a total of 8 runs.

The NFL Finds No Tampering Charges Against Minnesota Vikings: Official reports have been released, in a statement by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, that the Minnesota Vikings were not guilty of tampering charges filed by the Green Bay Packers regarding QB Brett Favre. The news started circulating just some hours after Brett Favre's reinstatement papers were finally filed and processed.

The Green Bay Packers had filed tampering charges against their NFC North rivals, accusing them of having illegally conversations with the then-retired QB, about possibly coming out of retirement and signing with the Minnesota Vikings.

The Minnesota Vikings will play their first Pre-season game against the Seattle Seahawks. At SBGglobal.com, you can now choose the team you feel will win this Preseason game.

Goodell acknowledged that there were conversations between Favre and the Vikings, nevertheless, that none of these (conservations) suggested Favre was soliciting a job or that anyone was asking for the QB’s services. The Minnesota Vikings are -140 betting odds favorites to beat the Seattle Seahawks (+120) on August 7th, 2008.

The complaint was filed based partly on cell phone conversations between Favre and Darrell Bevel (Minnesota’s offensive coordinator). Bevel is a former Green Bay Packers employee, who has remained close friends with Favre even after his departure to the Vikings.

Brett Favre Trade Talks Denied by Minnesota Vikings: Brett Favre has officially been reinstated by the NFL Commissioners office as of Monday afternoon, but where does he go from here? Play for a team that doesn’t really want him, or is there indeed a trade in Favre’s immediate future? According to the Minnesota Vikings’ head coach, Brad Childress, there hasn’t been any contact from the Green Bay Packers regarding a possible Brett Favre trade.

At SportsBook.com, the betting odds for one of the (NFC North showdowns) “Games of the Year” is the November 9th 2008 game between the Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings

Which team will Brett Favre be playing for? and whom do the NFL betting odds have favorite to win?

Last weekend, the Milwaukee Journal released a report stating that the Green Bay Packers had contacted the Minnesota Vikings in regards to Brett Favre's possible whereabouts for next season.

On Monday, after Brett Favre’s official reinstatement, coach Childress dismissed the Milwaukee Journal’s report, classifying them as untrue, and that they hadn't made preliminary contact with the Packers about Favre's future and a possible trade.

The Vikings are facing tampering charges filed by the Packers, for allegedly having inappropriate contact with Favre during the summer. The Minnesota Vikings are -3½ betting odds favorites to win their “Game of the Year” November 9th match up against the Green Bay Packers (+3½).
