Andy Murray continues his quest for a Grand Slam title this evening as he takes on Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov in the Australian Open quarterfinals. Alexandr Dolgopolov is having quite an 
Australian Open debut. The 22 year old Ukrianian needed five sets to get third and fourth round wins, but win he did, against two of the top ranked players in the world no less.
Dolgopolov beat 13th ranked Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, a 2008 Australian Open finalist in 2008, 3-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 in the third round. The Kiev native then stunned fourth ranked Robin Soderling, 1-6, 6-3, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals.
Dolgopolov, who has faced Murray one time in his career (lost 6-3, 6-4, 6-2), hit 50 winners and 11 aces in eliminating Soderling, but he also benefited from the Swede's 51 unforced errors and six double faults.
Andy Murray, No. 5 in the ATP men's single rankings, reached the quarterfinals for the sixth time in his last 10 Grand Slam appearances with an impressive win over Jurgen Melzer. Murray bested the 11th ranked Austrian, 6-3, 6-1, 6-1 for his fourth straight sets victory of the tournament.
The 23 year old London resident hit 13 aces and 30 winners in the match, but he also played a clean game, committing just 10 unforced errors (27 for Melzer).
Murray, who lost to Roger Federer in last year's final, is vying to become the first Brit to win a major since Fred Perry won the U.S. Open in 1936.
