Venus Williams vs Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 2010 WTA Dubai Betting Odds: Defending WTA Barclays Dubai Tennis Championship, Venus Williams is coming off a second round victory over Sabine Lisicki of Germany (6-2, 6-3) and a third round win over Olga Govortsova of Belarus (7-5, 6-0) after enjoying a first-round bye. Venus Williams [-350 ML] will now be taking on Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova [+250 ML] of Russia, this morning beginning at 11 AM ET (8 AM PT) from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
With so many people talking about Venus turning 20, the 7-time Grand Slam Champion still believes in her abilities to continue winning tournaments. “I may not have won many tournaments but I came close to winning a couple of big ones last year,” Williams said. “Obviously, I go into each tournament wanting to win. And I am aware that I haven’t won a Grand Slam tournament, apart from Wimbledon, for some time.”
Venus entered the 2010 WTA Dubai tournament seeded third with younger sister Serena Williams sitting it out due to a leg injury. Second ranked Russian Dinara Safina has also withdrawn from this event. “Obviously, I miss her here and the tournament misses a player as successful as her, but once I step on the court I am completely focused on my game,” Williams said on Sunday. “The field is really strong. Obviously, a couple of top players are missing because of injuries, but the rest of us are playing very good tennis and it should be a fascinating week.
“I am just happy to win last year and I just want to add another title. I am looking forward to getting back on the court.”
