Roger Federer vs Stanislas Wawrinka 2011 BNP Paribas Betting Odds: It will be a Swiss face-off on Friday night at Indian Wells when former world No.1, Roger Federer [-550] takes on Tennis Odds underdog Stanislas Wawrinka [+350] in the quarter-finals of the 2011 BNP Paribas Betting Odds.
World no. 2 is looking for a fourth title at the event, and is coming off a straight sets win over young
American Ryan Harrison, 7-6(4) 6-3. The 18-year old sustained 10 aces from Federer along with his powerful forehands. But now Federer will be going up against his fellow countryman as well as doubles partner.
The two won the gold medal in 2008 at the Beijing Olympics, but the top-seeded Swiss is not worried about the matchup. This will be their ninth time playing each other, with Federer leading 7-1, winning their last five matches.
"We have to play doubles before we play singles," Federer said. "We have already been kidding around about this. We are going to serve each other in the back."
The last time the two met was in the quarterfinals of this year’s Australian Open, when Federer defeated Wawrinka 6-1, 6-3, 6-3. Wawrinka recently upset Tomas Berdych, world no. 7, in three sets (3-6, 6-4, 6-4) in order to earn his spot in the quarters.
