Rafael Nadal vs Ivan Ljubicic 2010 BNP Paribas Open Betting Odds: Defending champion, Spain’s Rafael Nadal [-750 ML] has reached the 2010 BNP Paribas Open Betting Odds semifinals at Indian Wells and will take on sports betting odds underdog Ivan Ljubicic [+450 ML] from Croatia. Nadal truly proved himself in the quarterfinals against Tomas Berdych, defeating him 6-4, 7-6, (7-4).
After losing three of his last five hard court encounters with Berdych, Rafa knew he had to changed things up. The Spaniard brought out his power and true talent against the 19th seed, and came out victorious. The windy match lasted 2 hours and 12 minutes, and was exciting till the last minute when Nadal finished things off with a commanding forehand winner.
The wind also became a very interesting factor in the match, as it was picking up trash and causing distractions.
"It was a very good match," Nadal told the official ATP Tour Web site. "I played really well, especially the first set. The first probably eight, nine games of the match was [at an] unbelievable level; later the wind came a little bit and it was more difficult to play.”
Next up for Nadal, is 20th seed, Ivan Ljubicic. The Croatian is feeling really good after his win over Juan Monaco of Argentina, 4-6, 6-2, 6-1. The 31-year-old does not seem to be worried, as he claims the conditions are in his favor.
"The conditions suit my game perfectly. It's nice and dry. The ball goes through the air pretty quickly. The court is slow enough so I can return well, as well. It's just perfect."
