Andy Roddick vs Nicolas Almagro Sony Ericsson Open 2010 Betting Odds: A busy Andy Roddick [-500 ML] has made it to the Sony Ericsson Open men’s quarterfinals and will go up against Nicolas Almagro [+350 ML]. The American has been apart of different charity and celebrity events while in South Florida. Playing basketball with Dwayne Wade and organizing a Chilean Relief Benefit are among his extracurricular activities.
Roddick will be playing a doubles match on Saturday to help raise money for the earthquake victims, which will be the day before the men’s finals. “Even if things go great and I'm in the final, I'll still play Saturday, just because it's necessary and what needs to happen,” he said. “It's a bigger cause than my tournament.”
If that were not enough, he still has the quarterfinals to worry about. Roddick currently holds the ATP Tour best record with 23-4. But on Tuesday the American was struggling against German Benjamin Becker. He found himself in a 1-4 hole (40-love), but tenaciously came back with his lethal serve, firing serves at 135 mph.
Roddick managed to climb is way back up and defeat the resilient Becker 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. He realizes that these comebacks come with experience. "When things aren't going my way, I'm probably better now," he said. "Six years ago on the court my highs were a lot higher, and the lows were a lot lower. If I would have gotten down early, I don't know if I would have stayed the course."
