For the fourth time this season, Sports Betting Odds favorite, world No.1 Rafael Nadal [-260] and No.2 ranked, Novak Djokovic [+185] will meet in the finals, as they’ve gone around the globe chasing each other down. Today, Nadal and Djokovic will meet in the BNL d'Italia Final 2011, in what should be a great appetizer before the start of the 2011 French Open Odds on May 22nd.
Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic Odds will play their BNL d'Italia Final 2011 today, following the women’s finals between Maria Sharapova vs Samantha Stosur.
Both, the Spaniard and the Serb are coming off hard-fought semifinal matches to get here. For Nadal, he had to defeat a crappy Richard Gasquet, 7-5, 6-1. Rafa will be trying to win his fifth Rome Masters in 6 years. Needless to say, Nadal will need to be at his best in today’s final, considering he is 0-3 against Djokovic.
“I’m playing better every day,” said Nadal after his victory. “(Gasquet) is playing really well right now and I had to save a few tough situations with my serve. It’s been a tough week and I’m happy to be in my sixth final in a row.”
Meanwhile, the hottest player in the world found himself in a dogfight against the unpredictable, Andy Murray, before ousting the Scot, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(7-2). The victory extended Djokovic magical run to 38 consecutive matches won to start a tennis season. There’s no doubt that despite being ranked second in the world, Djokovic is currently at the top of his game.
“It was a fantastic match and whoever saw it knows how close it was,” Djokovic said after the match. “(Murray) played really well. I had to earn my points as he wasn’t making a lot of errors. It took a lot out of both of us and unfortunately someone had to lose.”
