Andy Roddick and James Blake Eliminated from Wimbledon 2008: If Americans thought Maria Sharapova was having a crappy day… think again. Thursday June 26th 2008 might as well be declared as “Upsets Day” at the All England Club, but especially for Americans. After the shocking early second round exit of the women's world's #3 seed, Maria Sharapova, the 6th seeded Andy Roddick and the 9th seeded, James Blake, soon followed. Andy Roddick and James Blake both were hugely upset Thursday in London, as they suffered early exits at the hands of unseeded opponents. On what has become a very sad day for U.S. Men’s tennis, all the hopes now rest on the hands of Bobby Reynolds. James Blake was a -650 betting odds favorite against unknown Rainer Schuettler (+400). Blake was eliminated in 5 sets: 6-3, 6-7 (8), 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 Just a few hours ago, a cocky Andy Roddick spoke very feely to the media, about not being intimidated or scared to face neither Roger Federer nor Rafael Nadal in this year’s 2008 Wimbledon. Well he won’t have to worry about that now, as his underachieving ways continue to haunt him. Roddick was embarrassedly defeated by 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-4, 7-6 (4), by 40th-ranked Serbian, Janko Tipsaverik. In Tipsaverik’s entire career, he has never gone past the fourth round at any major. Andy Roddick was a -900 betting odds favorite over Janko Tipsarevik +450.
