Beijing 2008 Roger Federer vs James Blake: Roger Federer’s 4½ year reign as the world’s No. 1 will soon come to an end, but by no means expect him to just fade away. In the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing, China, a collision course between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal seems almost inevitable. If everything goes according to the plan, the world’s two best tennis players will meet Sunday for the Gold Medal. But first, Federer must face off against the United States’ (Men's) last hope, James Blake. In their Thursday, August 14th match, Roger Federer (-2500) is an overwhelming betting odds favorite against the American, James Blake (+900). After his loss in the epic Wimbledon 2008 finals, Roger Federer just hasn’t been the same player. However, he is coming into this match, against Blake, feeling pretty good about himself. In the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, Federer suffered a devastating defeat to Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic. In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Federer avenged that loss against Berdych in straight sets 6-4, 7-6 (4) in his most recent match. Against Blake, the Swiss has completely dominated their encounters. Blake, who advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating No. 10 Giles Simons of France (6-4, 6-2), is 0-8 against Roger and has only been able to win 1 set out of 22.
