Andy Roddick vs Novak Djokovic US Open Predictions: American Andy Roddick will get his chance at the guy he called “one of the most courageous guys of all time” in Thursday evening’s 2008 U.S. Open quarterfinals. Andy Roddick and others have freely suggested (to the media), that Serbian Novak Djokovic fakes injuries, and repeatedly calls health trainers on the court to gain some sort of advantage during his matches. At SBGglobal.com, American, Andy Roddick is a +115 betting odds underdog against Serbian Novak Djokovic (-145). Roddick is coming off a very impressive win over a very tough 11th seeded, Fernando Gonzalez in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4, 6-1. The 2003 U.S. Open champion played almost a perfect match by winning 53 of 62 points. “You never think you’re just going to run away with it,” said the 8th seeded Roddick. When asked about his upcoming showdown with the world’s #3, a very sarcastic Andy Roddick told reporters: “I’ve got to feel good, he’s got about 16 injuries right now: bird flu, Anthrax, SARS, common cough and cold… and a back, and a hip? Either he’s quick to call the trainer or one of the most courageous guys o all time.” Djokovic spokesperson said that Novak would wait until he steps on the court to respond: “Novak speaks on-court and has no comments on this today.” When Novak Djokovic faced 15th seeded Tommy Robredo in the 4th round, the Serb called his trainer onto the court on several occasions. Robredo who lost the match, thought Djokovic was surely stalling: “If you’re not fit enough, then don’t play… did I trust him? No, I think he took his time because he was a little bit more tired and that’s a part of this game.”
