Novak Djokovic (6-5): Djokovic has won four of the last eight majors and he has won the last two Australian Opens. Need more enticing? The Serbian has reached the finals in seven of the last nine Grand Slams. There are no sure bets, but Djokovic may be as close as it gets.

Andy Murray (3-1): Murray had a banner 2012 season, winning his first Grand Slam tournament (U.S. Open) as well as taking gold at the London Olympics. Many are wondering/hoping he can continue to build on his successes and become a more consistent challenger to the likes of Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal. Not a bad play here at +300 as he does have two Australian Open finals appearances on his resume (2010, 2011).

Roger Federer (9-2): Some wondered if Federer would ever win another major given his recent troubles dealing with Djokovic and Nadal, but the Swiss great notched his first Grand Slam victory since taking home the 2012 Aussie Open title with a winning turn at Wimbledon last year. Federer is not as dominant as he used to be, but he is never a bad play to win a major.

Women’s Favorites -

Serena Williams (1-1): Williams, who won here Australian Open warmup in Brisbane, has five Australian Open titles and she finished off the 2012 season with a flurry. The Michigan native won five of her last six tournaments, including Wimbledon, the Olympics, and the U.S. Open.

Victoria Azarenka (10-3): The top ranked women’s singles player, Azarenka won her first and only career major last year in Melbourne. She played well enough the rest of the season to maintain her position atop the WTA standings, but she did have difficulty getting past Serena Williams as she fell to the American at Madrid, Wimbledon, the Olympics, and U.S. Open.

Maria Sharapova (7-1): Sharapova returned to prominence in a big way last season, completing a career Grand Slam by taking her first title at Roland Garros. The Russian native also reached the finals at the Australian Open and the semifinals at the U.S. Open. Sharapova secured her one and only Australian Open title in 2008.

Novak Djokovic got through after tough opening sets over Nikolay Davydenko and Marin Cilic in his first two rounds, Djokovic looked sharp during his quarter-final win over No. 5 seed Gael Monfils on Friday night, winning nine straight games from 2-all in the first set before closing out the Frenchman, 62 61. "I have played the best match of the tournament, no doubt,” Djokovic said. "I had a difficult game at two-all to hold my serve. After that, when I made the first break, it was incredible. Nine games in a row. I'm happy to see my game is progressing each day. Djokovic is an amazing 51-1 on the season, including a perfect 25-0 in ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events this season (winning 19 of those matches in straight sets, being pushed to three sets six times). He is trying to become the first player to win five ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles in a season (since 1990).

Jo-Wilfred Tsonga has already beaten two Top 8 seeds to get here – No. 3 seed Roger Federer and No. 8 seed Nicolas Almagro – and will now break back into the Top 10 by virtue of this week’s performance. He leads Djokovic in their head-to-head series, 5-3, but in their only 2011 meeting it was Djokovic who won, in the semi-finals of Wimbledon. “The last match was very close, very intense, very important for both of us,” Djokovic said.

Rafael Nadal has 10 Grand Slam titles, two of which he obtained on the Wimbledon grass, and he owns a 16-11 record in 27 career meetings with second ranked Novak Djokovic. However, the Serbian, who will take over the ATP's top spot regardless of tomorrow's result, has dominated him of late.

Novak Djokovic has won four straight matches against the Spaniard with the two most recent victories coming on clay, a surface Nadal has owned since 2005.

If his recent history opposite Djokovic were not enough to scare Nadal, perhaps Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's assessment of the Serb following Friday's semis will do the trick.

Tsonga thought his own semifinals performance would have "beat everybody today, but not Djokovic, because he just played unbelievable. He was everywhere. He returns unbelievable all the time on his baseline."

Djokovic's "unbelievable" semifinal play is nothing new as he has been nearly perfect all season long, posting a 47-1 match record. Djokovic's only loss came in the French Open semis last month where the greatest tennis player ever, Roger Federer, ousted him in four remarkable sets.

Nadal, despite the emminent loss of his top ranking, has played fantastic this year as well. The ultra-quick Mallorca native is 51-7 and he has secured three singles titles, including his sixth French Open crown.

In spite of Djokovic's recent control over Nadal, the 24 year old can expect the Spaniard's best tomorrow. Nadal, when fully healthy, has a Grand Slam game like no other. If Djokovic is to garner his first Wimbledon title and his third career major, he will have to earn it the hard way, just like he did the No. 1 ranking.

Maria Sharapova had not advanced past the fourth round at Wimbledon since reaching the semifinals at the 2006 Championships, until yesterday that is when she ousted Sabine Lisicki 6-4, 6-3 in the semis.

Sharapova, who has cruised through all comers in straight sets this tournament, had more unforced errors and fewer winners than her German counterpart; however, she outperformed Lisicki in the service game as well as in break point conversions. Sharapova won 22 of her 32 first serve chances and she converted six of her 10 break point opportunities. 

Sharapova's effort earned her a second Wimbledon finals appearance and her first since winning the championship as a 17 year old in 2004. Should Sharapova go on to win tomorrow, it will mark her fourth career Grand Slam title.

For Kvitova, tomorrow's match will represent her first Grand Slam finals appearance. The 21 year old, who reached the semifinals at Wimbledon last year, upset fourth ranked Victoria Azarenka 6-1, 3-6, 6-2 in securing the career milestone.

The left-handed Kvitova, whose unorthodox shots have flummoxed her Wimbledon competition, had nine aces and an amazing 40 winners in turning back Azarenka.

Tomorrow's championship will serve as the second meeting between the sixth ranked Sharapova and Kvitova. The two squared off in Memphis last year where the Russian beat the youngster in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 on a hard court surface.

Andy Murray has cleared the Rafael Nadal hurdle four times in his career, but he has never done so at Wimbledon, where the Spaniard has turned him back in straight sets on two occasions.

The pair faced off in the semifinals at the All England Club as recently as last year when Nadal beat the Brit 6-4, 7-6, 6-4. The match, which lasted 142 minutes, featured 15 Murray aces to Nadal's four; however, Murray landed just 55 of his 92 first serves, thus robbing himself of a number of scoring chances.

Murray did much the same last month when he and Nadal tangled in the semifinals at the French Open. The lanky 24 year old performed better, connecting on 67 of his 104 first serve opportunities, but he was still a far cry from equaling Nadal, who hit 87 of 119.

If Murray, who beat Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-4, 6-4 in Wednesday's quarters, can keep that aspect of his game under control tomorrow, he may be able to thwart Nadal like he did at the 2008 U.S. Open and 2010 Australian Open.

Nadal, who is chasing his third Wimbledon and 11th Grand Slam titles, has struggled at times in his last two matches as the 25 year old needed four sets to get by both Juan Martin Del Potro and Mardy Fish.

Still, beating Nadal will not be easy, something Murray well knows given that he has lost to the four time Wimbledon finalist 11 times.

Novak Djokovic needed four sets for the second time at the 2011 Wimbledon Championships as he bested Australian teenager Bernard Tomic 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 in Wednesday's quarterfinal.

Djokovic hit four fewer winners than Tomic in the match, but he also committed 14 fewer unforced errors. The 24 year old, who is set to inherit the ATP's top ranking should he beat Tsonga, produced 14 aces in the victory while scoring wins of 54 of his 69 first serve opportunities.

Djokovic's win setup an eighth career meeting with the 26 year old Tsonga. Surprisingly, the Frenchman holds a 5-2 advantage in the pair's previous seven meetings. That fact has the Serb anticipating a tightly contested affair this morning.

"He is very dangerous," Djokovic said. "He had an amazing comeback against Federer, he served well and played well, and he's been playing great in the grass court season so far. I expect a very, very even match."

Tsonga, as Djokovic indicated, scored a stunning five set win over Federer after dropping the first two sets 3-6, 6-7. Tsonga won the final three frames in 6-4 fashion after his serve rounded into unbreakable form.

Tsonga and Djokovic, which have never faced each other on a grass surface, are 1-1 opposite one another in Grand Slam play. Djokovic beat Tsonga 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 7-6 in the finals of the 2008 Australian Open; however, he lost to the Le Mans native 6-7, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 1-6 in the quaterfinals of the 2010 Aussie Open. That match served as the most recent showdown between the two.

Novak Djokovic's dominance continued on Monday as he ousted his fourth round opponent, 19th ranked Michael Llodra, in straight sets 6-3, 6-3, 6-3. Djokovic produced just one more ace than Llodra (9 to 8), but he had six unforced errors to the Frenchman's 21.

Djokovic, who scored 32 winners in the match, also outdueled the Paris native in the service game, winning 42 of his 50 first serve chances and 16 of his 22 second service opportunities.

The victory improved Djokovic's 2011 match record to an unbelieveable 45-1; the lone setback being a four set loss to Roger Federer in the French Open semifinals.

While Djokovic's presence in the Wimby quarterfinals was almost a foregone conclusion, Bernard Tomic's was anything but. Tomic, who won three qualifying matches to make the tournament, has shocked the All England Club with his performance over the past two weeks.

Not only has Tomic found his way to the quarterfinals in just his second Wimbledon appearance, he has won all but one match, a second round battle with Russian Igor Andreev, in straight sets.

Tomic's latest victim, Belgium's Xavier Malisse, fell to the Gold Coast resident 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 on Monday. Tomic had 10 aces, eight unforced errors, and 37 winners in the win.

Tomorrow's match will mark the first time that Tomic and Djokovic have squared off in sanctioned play.

Wimbledon 2011 Quarterfinals Odds Novak Djokovic vs Bernard Tomic Predictions:

American Mardy Fish finds himself in uncharted waters right now as he has never played in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon. In fact, in 34 Grand Slam entries, Fish has only reached the quarterfinals three times and that includes this year's Wimby. 

The Minnesota native is playing some great tennis, though, with only one of his opponents able to take him to a fourth set thus far. Fish got past Robin Haase 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 1-1 (retired) in the third round, but he has bested every other comer, including last year's runner-up, Tomas Berdych, in straight sets.

Berdych suffered a bad Fish experience on Monday as the American took him out 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, 6-4. The 29 year old Fish, who is playing in his ninth Wimbledon, had 23 aces, 12 unforced errors, and 42 winners in the underdog win.

Defending champion Rafael Nadal needed four sets to get by 24th ranked Juan Martin Del Potro on Monday as he dropped the second frame to the Argentine 3-6. Nadal, who won the opening set 7-6 (8-6), bounced back, despite the foot issue, winning the last two sets 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.

Nadal had an MRI done on the foot after the match and the results came back clean, clearing the ATP's top ranked player for his quarterfinals meeting with Fish.

Nadal, who beat Fish in the round of 128 at the 2007 Wimbledon Championships, is 5-0 against the American. The pair last met in the quarterfinals of the 2008 U.S. Open, where Nadal won in four sets, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-2.

Roger Federer needed four sets for the first time all tournament on Monday as he downed Russia's Mikhail Youzhny 6-7 (7-5), 6-3, 6-3, 6-3 to advance to the Wimbledon quarterfinals.

Federer had 25 unforced errors to Youzhny's 23, but he outgunned the 29 year old Moscow native with 14 aces and 54 winners in the three hour match. Federer, who won on 60 of his 71 first serve opportunities, went 6-for-14 on break point conversions (Youzhny 1-for-7).

The win marked Federer's 29th consecutive fourth round triumph at a Grand Slam tournament. 

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga earned his sixth career meeting with Federer (first on grass) after turning back seventh ranked Spaniard David Ferrer in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 (7-1). The victory, which featured 12 aces and 37 winners from Tsonga, helped the Frenchman secure his second consecutive Wimbledon quarterfinals appearance.

Last year Tsonga faced Andy Murray in the quarters and fell in four sets 7-6, 6-7, 2-6, 2-6.

Tsonga, who owns a 1-4 record against Federer, played the Swiss great on the clay courts of Rome last month. He fell to Fed in straight sets 4-6, 2-6. 

The only previous Grand Slam meeting between Federer and Tsonga came in the semifinals of the 2010 Australian Open. Federer came away with another straight sets victory, beating Tsonga 6-2, 6-3, 6-2.
